Manic Street Preachers, Albert Hall. 11th December 2014

Okay pay attention (if you want to). I've been to a gig tonight. I go to quite a few. I tend to gush about them a bit afterwards. After all these are bands I like right. But this is a bit different. Manic Street Preachers playing the Holy Bible (and more). Some folks will read that and think nostalgia act. They couldn't be more wrong. Apart from the fact that this year, this band released one of the best albums of their career and one of the best albums of the year, tonight they played an album 20 years old, in full, with such astonishing force that I can't type these words fast enough. Every other band playing older albums in full, give up now. Manics are setting the bar higher than anyone can ever reach. It helps of course that the album in question is stunning, but even so there's not another band with another album that could have destroyed The Albert Hall in Manchester so throughly tonight.
